The picture frame also gives details of the three original bells retained as chime bells in the tower. This is one of only six complete rings of pre-Reformation bells remaining in Leicestershire.

To its right is an illustration of the floral stops which separate the words of these dedications. On the left (top) is an illustration of the initial cross preceding John of York's 'autograph' inscription, which occurs upon the haunches of the bell, below the canons, and centre bottom is an illustration of the cross used as a stop between the letters of this inscription. Huius sci Rychardi x (I am St Richard's [bell]) Seliok of Nottingham c.1500 The two stops at the end of this bell's inscription are reproduced below (taken from North): T. North also mentions that there was once a Sanctus Bell in Sproxton church, probably of preReformation date, which was hung 'near the south window', but it was said to have been stolen, and carried off in the night.
