Work Parties

Work Parties are crucial to the continued work of MOWS.  They take pace on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.

Find Out What's Involved at a Work Party

We would welcome more members (non-members also welcome) to come along and get involved.  You can do as little or as much as you are capable of. If you are curious as to what we do on our work parties, you could come to see at first hand before committing any of your time.

Work Party Database

The society is going to compile a database of anyone, member or non-member, who wishes to get involved in any of our work parties, so that we can let you have full details well in advance.  If you wish to be put on this list, please contact Linda Hulme, (e-mail:  lindaahulme@gmail.com) giving your name, address and telephone number (non-members), e-mail address and times when you are most like to be available.  All work party organisers will have a copy of this list. All relevant information will be published here (see below), plus contact details of the work party organiser.  We can send information by post for those volunteers without internet facilities. Work parties on the Melton Ring may be on the society's boats 'Mole' or 'Badger' (or both) and could be any day of the week or at weekends.  Oakham work parties - either 'Rocks By Rail' or 'Springfield' sites are more likely to be organised for Tuesdays, Thursdays or at weekends.
River Clearance Vessel On Sunday 27 March 2011, MOWS officially launched the new river clearance vessel. This is in regular use where we need to clear debris and silt from the river bed
