The Oakham canal is
in light red. Much of
the Oakham canal
route has disappeared
on the ground but
Google maps’ aerial
photos enable traces
to be seen.
The positions of the
locks on the Melton
Navigation are likely
to be quite accurate
but the ones on the
Oakham Canal are
somewhat guessed
from a rather small
and possibly
inaccurate map.
